The Wheelers were out in force again at the Dunton test track on Thursday for the Ford CC 4th category event. The race was run at a very fast pace from the start and although many attempts were made by riders to break clear of the main field, none were successful. It therefore all came down to a big bunch sprint to the line in which Graham Pearl and Martin Elms took creditable 4th and 5th places respectively, while Mike Knot, Ben Willy and Dave Whybrow all finished in the main pack. Terry Butcher and Mike MacCarthy were delayed by a crash in the finishing straight and both finished just behind the bunch. On Sunday there was a good turnout riders at Canewdon who enjoyed sunny conditions for the Social and Training rides. |
