On Saturday 3rd July, several Wheelers met at Chingford
for a ride around Epping Forest. We were fortunate to be guided around
the local rider Ken who knows most of the single-track that
criss-crosses the forest. The recent warm spell has dried put most of
the mud patches leaving the ground rock hard, exposing many roots and
ensuring the fire-trails kick up loads of dust. |

We cycled for around 4 hours taking in short, sharp ascents and equally perilous descents and forded a stream twice. There were a few minor tumbles, but no major falls or punctures. Be sure to check the events listing for future rides. There is likely to be an trip to Bedgebury Forest in Kent which has a variety of trails to suit all the family; 10km of surfaced family track around the 200 acre forest plus 12km of more challenging single-track. Keep an eye on the off-road page for further details. |
