The Southend Wheelers / Maldon CC / Chelmer CC & Colchester Rovers CC
inter-club 25 mile Time Trial was held at Steeple on Saturday 13th
August. Without Time Trial Specialists Robin Bevan and Phil Holloway and
youngster Simon Alexander available, it was unlikely that the Southend
Wheelers would challenge for the club competition but there were was an
encouraging turn out for this event with Marc Holdich, Ben Willy, Matt
Kane and Jan Harvey making their debut at this distance, Terry Butcher
riding his first 25 for a few years and James Gander and Bruce Gander
making their competitive Time Trial debuts for the club. Thanks to all
the competitors, especially the debutants, for supporting this event.
