Sunday 16th October - Southend / Maldon Interclub 30
On a cold but fine morning with very light winds, Steve Bass of the
Maldon ran out the winner in 1.13.32, with Southend junior Simon
Alexander finishing as runner up in an excellent time of 1.15.08 in his
first ride at the distance. Youth rider Matt Kane also riding his first
30 finished in a creditable time of 1.25.11.

On Saturday four Southend Wheelers, Matt Kane, Denise Kemp, Eileen
Bristow and Jordan Kemp, travelled to six Mile Bottom near Newmarket for
the ECCA 10 Miles Time Trial.
On a fine day but with a brisk south westerly breeze that made it hard
going out to the turn, Matt and Denise achieved excellent personal best
times, both getting under 25 minutes for the first time, while Eileen
teamed up with 13 years old grand-daughter Jordan to return a very
creditable 27mins 44secs.
