Adam Jones is our Cycling Advocate and can be contacted for an opinion on cycling related media initiatives.
Having cycled as a teenager in his home county of Cheshire, then whilst a student in West Wales during the late 80’s, Adam’s passion for the sport goes back a long way. However, after moving to London in the early 90’s, a string of close shaves with cars, black cabs and buses convinced him to pursue several other interests. However, a decade ago, a horse rising accident persuaded him to return to cycling and he has since taken part in events such as the Roubaix Challenge, RideLondon and the DeeJay 100 Gran Fondo in Milan. He can also be regularly seen taking part in the club’s time trials or standing on the road side, supporting his club mates as a Marshal.

Combining his extensive experience of riding bikes in various parts of Britain and Europe with past experience as a Southend Borough Councillor and as a journalist for publications such as Cycling Weekly – alongside broadsheets such as the Financial Times - Adam has also developed a reputation as a passionate advocate for safer cycling and active travel. This has seen him appear on Sky News, BBC Radio Essex and in both the local and national press as someone who campaigns for and speaks on behalf of fellow cyclists. Please contact Adam by e mail here.
