On the Club committee
Time Trial Secretary
This role may suit a member who can coordinate and encourage other members to take on a smaller TT role as the organiser of the Saturday 7 mile TT series or the Wednesday evening 10 mile TT series, leaving the TT secretary to manage the weekend Club TT programme and championship events. Martin Harris is supportive by managing and updating the TT leagues on the website, and the website also offers an event entry portal, saving the organiser from receiving or responding to entries via e mail.
Volunteer Coordinator/Marshalling Secretary
To manage the appointment of marshals and volunteers to the club race programme, and our open events, where you would liaise with the open event organisers. Thanks to member Paul Gribbon there has been a an Excel file developed for managing volunteers, which now sits on the Club's Google drive, so committee members and organisers can share it. Although members are potentially asked to do three duties each year, the size of the club, and number of events organised could mean less commitment from each member.
The Secretary would also need to appoint marshals for ECCA events when required.
Clothing Secretary Role
The Clothing Secretary role is a committee position that allows our club members to buy our club kit and clothing.
Bioracer club kit
You will instruct Bioracer when to open and close the club shop by liaising with our Bioracer representative, Russell Hampton. We have a very good relationship and Russell is a great contact for us to have. Once the window closes, Bioracer make the kit and will post it to you in one delivery. It is then your responsibility to distribute the kit to those who ordered. The kit comes prepackaged with the persons name so you will not have to split a big box of kit.
You will also maintain the club kit levels that we hold in stock.
Casual clothing and merchandise
A new part of the role and one that you will be able to develop.
Currently, you will collate the clothing orders (forwarded on via the web shop/team) and send them to Lucy monthly. Once made, you will collect from Lucy (based in Southend) and distribute to members.
The range is as per the shop but the committee is keen for more items to be added and the range expanded so members can have access to items that they want/need.
If you have any questions, then please get in touch with Matthew Stock who is currently looking after this role.
