Spotted – Santa(s) in Canewdon
Santa(s), Reindeer, Elves were all spotted in the Canewdon on Sunday morning competing in Southend Wheelers annual Christmas time trial, held over seven miles. Many of the riders got into the Christmas spirit by dressing up in Christmas attire and adorning their bikes with lights and tinsel. The top three placings in both the men’s and women’s categories went to riders from East Essex Tri-Club. Fastest rider on the day was Ian George who completed the course in a time of 20:1

Morgan-Hobbs – Hill Climb Champion 2025
Southend Wheelers Hill Climb Championships, one of the oldest in the clubs history, was held at the weekend. Twenty-seven riders took on the short sharp climb of on Vicarage Hill, Benfleet, a combination of endurance sprinting and climbing. Club junior, Wilbur Morgan-Hobbs led the club riders home in a time of 1min 27secs with a clear distance over second placed veteran Chris Smith (1min 41 secs), and third placed Junior Isaac Phillips (1min 47 secs).
