Time trialling

The race of truth

Time trialling is known as the race of truth. Competitors race alone starting at one-minute intervals and ride against the clock over a specified distance, the rider with the fastest time at the end of the event is the winner. Distances vary from 7 to 100 miles with the specialist mile eaters going up to 12 and 24 hours.

Most club riders compete at 7, 10, 25 and 50 miles in weekly leagues organised by Southend Wheelers or other local clubs or associations to which they belong.
