Women friendly rides
Girlpower but may contain males
Mainly for female riders but male partners were also welcome last August. To see what you missed download the programme we completed from 27th August to 4th September here.
Southend Wheelers Women's Festival of cycling
On the first Saturday of most months we organise ‘women friendly’ cycle rides
Starting at Chalkwell Shelter SS0 8HW (see map below) at 9.00am we aim to ride about 30 miles (50 kms). Encouraging friendly and fun, we promise to ride at a comfortable pace for everyone in the group with a no drop rule. Weather permitting we stop for coffee and cake at the end. Check the remaining rides in the calendar here.
Why women friendly? … we appreciate that getting back on a bike or starting from scratch can be pretty daunting. These rides were set up to provide support and advice for those looking to have cycling as their hobby or sport. We want to be inclusive so anyone is welcome to join - you don't have to be a club member! For those coming from further afield, Chalkwell Station is nearest on the C2C line.
For more details please contact Kevin Smith or Cheryl Perry - our British Cycling Breeze champion!
