A scorching Sunday morning didn’t stop the Wheelers trio of John‑Paul Paduano, Dave Pennington, Jennie Pennington from delivering a brilliant set of performances at the Eastern Counties Cycling Association (ECCA) 100‑mile Time Trial on the E2 course near Newmarket.
In his first ever 100‑mile event, John‑Paul Paduano rose to the challenge in style, clocking an impressive 4 hrs 15 min 42 secs. A huge milestone and a fantastic marker for what’s to come.
Club stalwart Dave Pennington, current holder of the Club’s Heath 100‑mile Championship Cup, powered to a superb new personal best of 3 hrs 47 mins 47 secs — a ride that shows exactly why he’s one of our most consistent long‑distance specialists.
Not to be outdone, Jennie Pennington delivered the standout ride of the day, smashing 16 minutes off her previous best time to finish in 4 hrs 12 mins 08 secs, setting a new Women’s Club Age‑Related Record in the process. An incredible achievement and a brilliant example of what determination can help you unlock.
Their combined efforts secured the Team Prize for the Wheelers, showcasing the strength, spirit and teamwork that defines our club.
Inspiring performances that make the whole club proud.
