Club rides are enhanced with the latest technology, using Garmin, WhatsApp, Facebook and mobile phones to communicate in the days and hours before the ride.  This is our Strava page. Here is a selection of rides:

Red Group - Map - GPX File - Rettendon, Stock, Margaretting, Highwood, Ingatestone, Stock (again!) and home
Red Group - Map - GPX File - Rettendon, Woodhill and Bicknacre
Red Group - Map - GPX File - A hilly route taking in Leather Bottle Hill, Woodhill and Radar Hill
Blue Group - Map - GPX File - Tour of the Hanningfields

Thaxted and The Blue Egg - A 75+ mile loop to/from Battlesbridge, so easily the basis for a 100-mile loop from Southend to The Blue Egg, the long way via Thaxted and then returning via Maldon so easy to extend to the Tea Rooms at Heybridge Basin. Alternatively keep on the Maldon Road from Hatfield Peveral for a small detour to the Peartree Tea Rooms on Spring Lane.  GPX File

3 Peaks of South Essex - A 50-mile loop taking in North Hill, Radar Hill and Hagg Hill. Can easily be extended westwards towards Stock in the early section, east towards Maldon in the centre and east towards Southminster in the latter stages to create a 100-mile loop. GPX File

West Hanningfield and Ulting - A 50-mile loop taking in South Hanningfield, West Hanningfield, Great Baddow, Woodhill, Little Baddow, Ulting, Woodham Walter, Danbury, Bicknacre and Rettendon, flirting with North Hill but not taking the main ascent. A route at the top-end of mileage for a Sunday run from Canewdon so not a good route for a double puncture. GPX File

Margaretting Tye and Butts Green - A shorter loop of just 41 miles but one that can easily be extended by returning via Woodhill and/or West Hanningfield. GPX File

Tillingham and the E21  - A 55.5-mile loop from Canewdon taking in the E21/50 course via Tillingham. Out via 'Fish-man Hill' and back via Radar Hill. Can be extended slightly to take in the Bradwell loop of the E21/10 course. GPX File

The Viper and Beggar Hill - A 52.5mile loop from Canewdon to The Viper and Beggar Hill via Margaretting Tye. If starting from Battlesbridge, the route can easily be extended to include Highmore (before The Viper) and Blackmore (after Beggar Hill). Ingatestone can be avoided by using the ford as per the route of the London-Southend ride. GPX File

Woodham Walter Loop - Canewdon - Tropical Wings - Bicknacre - Woodham Walter - Paper Mill Lock - Boreham - Sandon - West Hanningfield - Leather Bottle Hill - Warren Road - Rettendon Village - Battlesbridge - Canewdon. 51 miles, ridden at almost 20 mph. GPX File

The Blue Egg - one option for a longer ride to the (in)famous Blue Egg cafe near Great Bardfield. This is a 75–80-mile round trip from the Southend area, route shown is from The Hawk, Battlesbridge. GPX File

Boreham and North Hill - with an option for an extra loop via Fuller Street and Terling. One of Martin Harris’s favourite routes. GPX File.

Wakering Stairs - meet at the Anne Boleyn and loop around Barling, Wakering Stairs, the seafront, both Pagelshams and Wallasea Island before tea and cake at Canewdon Village Hall. GPX File

The Legs of Steel - a favourite outing to the Surrey Hills for 52 miles of climbing featuring all the well-known hills of the area. GPX File

Garons Park to Canewdon - a mainly off-road route from Garons Park to Canewdon devised by John Gretton to defeat the icy road conditions

ECCA Festival 100km Audax - the 2017 ECCA Festival Audax Route, with approximate locations of the Control Points. GPX File
