There has been a drop in participants in our time trial events this season - in particular the mid week evening events at Steeple or Hanningfield (with Essex Roads). It is not just our club that is seeing a lack of riders but also other local clubs. CTT/ECCA events are being cancelled as well. In order for the committee to decide how we approach our time trial programme next year, we would like members' thoughts on time trials, and will then put together a report for further discussion with club members. We will also be having discussions with the other local clubs but we can only do this once we know what members want.
1. What is your reason for not riding Wednesday time trials at Steeple or Hanningfield ?
2. Would you ride an evening time trial if it was local to the Southend area-eg Canewdon 7 mile course
3. Looking to next season - which course would you ride mid week - taking into consideration work commitments, convenience, travel costs to and from the course - Hanningfield / Steeple / Canewdon ?
4. The Club Championship 10 was on a Sunday morning at Steeple - we only had 6 riders - what was your reason for not riding this event?
We appreciate that not all members participate in time trials so the above may not apply to you. However it would be helpful to know if you do not wish to do time trials as that will allow us to assess the overall interest in time trialling amongst club members.
