Wheelers Club time trial programme 2024

Our Time Trial Season is fast approaching. Club Time Trial Programme as follows

We start with Easter Egg 10 on Monday 1st April - first rider off at 9:00 am - Matthew Stock is the organiser.

Wednesday Evening TTs start on 3rd April with our traditional 2 Up TTT on our local E36 Canewdon course. We will again be sharing Wednesday events with Essex Roads CC. The events by and large will alternate - but there are some weeks when this is not the case, so check website calendar. We will need volunteers to organise the Wednesday evening events. Dan Walsh will co ordinate the rota but it will be the organiser's responsibility to source marshals for their event. Ideally we would like one organiser for each month - but of course happy to take all offers. HQ for Wednesday evenings TBA but likely to be Shepherd and Dog Pub due to clash with other users at the Canewdon hall.

Saturday league will start on 1st June and will run for 4 Saturdays in June (note no event on 29th June) and then will return for 4 Saturdays in September . HQ will be Shepherd and Dog and Jane Harris and Kevin Smith will be the organisers.

Both the Wednesday and Saturday Leagues are self managed and all those that ride in those leagues must also marshal. If we do not have sufficient marshals 48 hours before the event, then the organiser has the right to cancel the event.

The following events will form the Club Sunday League:

Friday 29th March - ECCA 25 - Course E6

Monday 1st April - SW Easter 10 - E 36

Sunday 7th April Colchester 10 - E7

Sunday 21st April Shaftesbury 25 - E9

Sunday 12th May - Maldon 25 - E21

Sunday 19th May - Shaftesbury 25 E83

Sunday 16th June - Club Championship 10 - E36

Sunday 30th June - Norman Wells 50 E9

Sunday 28th July - Chelmer 25 - E94 - will also be Club 25 Championship and Bob Haworth Team Trophy (Interclub with Chelmer CC)

Sunday 4th August - Colchester 50 - E7

Saturday 17th August - Maldon /GHS 10 - E21

Sunday 8th September - Basildon 25 - E83

Members who want to compete in the Sunday League about - it is your responsibility to check the entry requirements for these non club events in the league. These events in the Sunday league are run by other clubs and are already on the CTT website. Please don't assume entry on the day is acceptable as some of the clubs may close their entries 2 or 3 weeks before.

Club BAR (Best all Rounder)

In order to qualify for the Club BAR (Best All Rounder) trophies , you must ride the following events

7 Mile TT / 10 Mile TT / 25 Mile TT / 50 Mile TT and the Club Road Race.

Reminder, if you wish to qualify for any cups and awards it is your responsibility to report your results and times from any non club events that you ride - including those in the league. Please ensure that you email your results to: myresults@southendwheelers.org

Please also remember to notify Dan Walsh of any events that you may be riding so that we can do a ' who is doing what' piece each weekend and also report on your event for our website and social media pages.
