Cyclists who go in style
In the build-up to our centenary year, a recent visit to Southend Library researching the newspaper archives revealed this small article printed in the Star 26th November 1963.
In an interview ahead of the club dinner, club secretary, Dave Hicks reported that more riders are travelling out to events by car. In the same article he congratulated the club champions and paid tribute to Dave Whybrow who gained his British Best All-rounder certificate, the first club member to do so.
