More than just a great member

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Wheeler's life member Dennis ‘Baz’ Bristow.

For many years Baz (along with Eileen) gave so much time to our club and the sport of cycling. Many reading this news will remember Baz as the regular Timekeeper for our evening events at Steeple, always there, regardless of the weather conditions.

Over the years Baz held many other positions in our club, all the time helping to run it efficiently and purposefully, serving on the committee in different roles, from Chairman, Treasurer, Marshalling secretary, Timekeeper and Event organiser.

His love for the club never stopped, even in his later years he continued to support everyone in the club, still attending club events, encouraging the younger riders and swapping memories with the older members.

Our condolences go out to Eileen, all their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he also supported in so many ways and the many friends he had in our sport.

It is now time for us to remember Baz...
