ree

The Southend Wheelers’ youth squad has surged ahead in the Travers MTB 2025 series, showcasing exceptional talent and grit – these young riders proved unstoppable!

Leading the charge, Wilbur Morgan Hobbs clinched the top spot on the podium in the male under-14 category, while Marisa Jarman-Hall rode to victory in the women's under-12 category. Both stars emerged through the Wheelers’ youth coaching programme.

The series of 10 events across diverse venues each designed to test the riders of all ages and skill levels, unfolded across stunning locations across the South-East, from Twisted Oaks, Ipswich in the north, Gallows Green, Lindsell out to the west to Bettshanger in Kent and the local course Potash Woods, Rochford, each providing a challenging and scenic backdrop for the riders.

Among the other rising stars from the Wheelers’ youth squad were Matty Last, who impressively finished 10th in the U12 men’s category, and George Heath, who fought hard for 23rd. Arthur O’Kill showed great promise with a 16th place finish in the under-9s, sister, Scarlett O’Kill, finished in 3rd place in the under-7 women’s category, whilst James Jarman-Hall delivered a commendable performance, finishing 15th in the men’s under-7 event.
