100km starts the centenary year

45 riders helped Southend Wheelers start their centenary year with their traditional Burnham and Baddow reliability ride, this year adding in an extra 100km route on top of the 80km and 58km routes.

All three routes started in East Hanningfiled and headed out to Burnham via Stow Maries, Cold Norton, Latchingdon, Althorne and on to Burnham where they then headed north towards Bradwell via Tillingham. Returning to Latchingdon the shorter of the three routes cut across country to East Hanningfield, whilst the two longer routes made their way onto Hatfield Peveral

with the 100km route going over the A12 towards Terling where they turned back towards Little Baddow on to Bicknacre returning to East Hanningfield.

As is the norm for this club event all profits taken from the ride will be given to charity, once organisational expenses have been catered for.
