Andrews Trophy
A blistering pace from the start saw Le Col Race Team put their authority on the peloton. By the halfway point the race split had into two groups on the road, with the break-away group attacking hard numerous moves by the riders off the front each trying to get an advantage and break free.
With a couple of laps to go Clay Davies (Ride Revolution Coaching) pushed a little more and was soon away, a position he held to the finish line. Monte Guerrini (Le Col RT) crossed the line to finished second with Danylo Riwnyj (Foran CT) taking third place.
Florrie Newbery Classic
In only its second year, the event has graduated to a National B and opening event to the British Women’s Team Cup series. The highly competitive field of women riders lined up for the 98.8km event in brilliant afternoon sunshine.
A crash on lap two brought a temporary halt to proceedings, but once back one their bikes the speed picked up, with multiple attacks making for an aggressive contest and great viewing for the spectators. Similar, the Andrews Trophy the winning move came a couple of laps prior to the finish when Noemie Thomson (Southborough and District Wheelers), who was competing in her very first road race made her move and stayed clear of the chasing bunch as she crossed the finishing line. Second place went to Isabella Johnson (Jadan Vive Le Velo) with third going to junior rider Anna Lloyd (Shibden Apex RT).
